REMEMBER THE SABBATH DAY, to keep it holy. Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work: But the seventh day is the sabbath of the LORD thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates: For in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the LORD blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it.

In six days God created the first daylight, the firmament, dry ground the sun, moon, stars, fish, birds, other creatures on the land and mankind but on the seventh day, God rested. As God rested, he sanctified the seventh day by placing his authoritative blessing on it by making a holy day that we are to separate from all the other six days.

HOLY means to set apart for God, to be held with the utmost regard and respect and dedicated with a purpose and therefore deserves veneration.

Today most believers worldwide honor Sunday (the first day of the week) as the Sabbath day and they have failed to remember the day that God has ordained as His Sabbath. God charged us to not forget the seventh day of the week. We must stand corrected and look into why and how this change took place.

Constantine (also known as Flavius Valerius Aurelius Constantinus Augustus) enforced laws that would be reflected in Christian practices. On Sunday, March 7, 321, he declared Sunday (as a day of veneration to the Roman Sun God Sol Invictus) as an official day of rest. Constantine chose Sunday to be the day for Christian worship as it already had a special status in the Roman week. Sunday became the natural day for the Sabbath and rest since Romans were already accustomed to Sunday as their day off. Constantine was instrumental in converting the Roman Empire to Christianity and many pagan customs and polytheistic practices were instituted into the new age Christian religion, therefore, changing how God’s word would be applied in the lives of believers even today. When this occurred this allowed them to change the truth of God into a lie and followers worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator.

Constantine named himself Bishop of the Catholic Church and enacted the first civil law regarding Sunday observance in A.D. 321.

On the venerable day of the sun let the magistrate and people residing in cities rest, and let all workshops be closed. In the country however, persons engaged in agricultural work may freely and lawfully continue their pursuits; because it often happens that another day is not so suitable for grain growing or for vine planting; lest by neglecting the proper moment for such operations the bounty of heaven should be lost. —Schaff’s History of the Christian Church, vol. III, chap. 75.

Note that Constantine’s law did not even mention Sabbath, but referred to the mandated rest day as a “the venerable day of the sun.” Constantine ensured that his decree would be accepted swiftly and harmoniously. It did not stop there as new leaders ruled and church leaders stated: “Sunday is our mark of authority…”The church is above the Bible, and this transference of Sabbath observance is proof of that fact.” The Catholic Record, London, Ontario, September 1, 1923. Six hundred and sixty-six is the mark of a man. Mark means authority or signature. It is a visible brand that is typically used for identification purposes. It is also an action that is understood to represent a notable characteristic or feeling. This mark is the satanic influence that has been masked by religious powers as truth and has misguided believers well over 2000 years.

There is a kingdom upon the earth that over time has influenced the other kingdoms throughout ancient times. It has trodden over many powers and placed itself as the representative for how believers are to worship the most High.  Pagan customs were incorporated into the church’s ceremonies to include celebrations of Easter and Christmas which are the top celebratory days that have nothing to do with how God asked us to worship Him. The Bible calls this kingdom – the fourth beast. This beast has spoken great words against God. This kingdom has crucified many believers who were faithful even unto death. This kingdom sought to change God’s times and laws (Daniel 7).

If we look back at history with a clear-eyed view we gain more of an understanding of how God’s laws have been tampered with and how the people of God have been misled from placing their trust in mankind with authority to instate laws through their governing systems. The Apostle Paul warned the church in his writings do not let anyone deceive them.

Sometimes the answers are right there and we may glance over them or consider them lightly. But the Bible makes it plain and history explains how and why this has occurred. Many are still confused over how the Sabbath was so-called changed, but God’s desire is to end the confusion as you open your heart and share this truth.
