So long as the earth exists, sowing time and harvest, cold and heat, summer and winter, and day and night will not cease.” This lesson will speak mostly on the matter of sowing the seed of the gospel. Whatever we share we want it to be sound, to strengthen the faith in Christ! Be led by the Holy Spirit and let the will of the Most High be done.
The harvest truly is great, but the laborers are few: pray you therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he would send forth laborers into his harvest. [Luke 10:2]
Jesus’ Parable of the Sower
Luke 8:5 – A sower went out to sow his seed: and as he sowed, some fell by the way side; and it was trodden down, and the fowls of the air devoured it. 6And some fell upon a rock; and as soon as it was sprung up, it withered away, because it lacked moisture. 7And some fell among thorns; and the thorns sprang up with it, and choked it. 8And other fell on good ground, and sprang up, and bore fruit a hundredfold. And when he had said these things, he cried, He that has ears to hear, let him hear.
You Will Know Them by Their Fruits
15 “Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravenous wolves. 16 You will know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes from thorn-bushes or figs from thistles? 17 Even so, every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree bears bad fruit. 18 A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, nor can a bad tree bear good fruit. 19 Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. 20 Therefore by their fruits you will know them. [Matthew 7:15-20]
When we begin to trust in our efforts to open their eyes we may not see the results of our labor. If someone is blinded by the Most High, as a result of disbelief or sin, only He can open their eyes and give them sight to see those things which they are chosen to see.
Sometimes people feel like they are being forced or pushed to make a decision to walk with the Lord. As a result, they feel as though they are being judged and may put up resistance to obedience to the word.
As sowers of the Gospel, we have to be careful and mindful that if we continue trying to minister unto those who are resistant we could end up pushing them away for good. Therefore, we must allow the Holy Spirit to flow, trust and know that we are sowing good seed. Good Seed is the Gospel of the Kingdom of Christ – Good Seed, that is sown in Good Ground (listening ears) will bring forth fruit (results). Remember that we personally do not provide the increase, but our Father does!
Picture yourself called to sow seed in a huge field, you knowing for certain you have good seed and that you have limited time to do so and are expected to sow into the entire portion of the field assigned to you imagine sowing, stopping and waiting for the seed to be watered, waiting for the seed to sprout, then waiting for it to bear fruit.
In doing so, there is no way that you can fulfill the measure of your calling in Christ – and thus doing so would be a distraction and a hindrance to your individual calling.
We must sow the seed and let the Father do the rest yet be there for those who inquire with us pertaining to this Life in Christ.
People are always watching and looking for an example. However, we must remember that we have been instructed not to put our trust in man. Christ is the epitome of perfection and he is our living example of what God is calling for us to imitate. Those we minister to are sitting back watching us to see if we are really living what we say – if we do, those who are watching witness the power of Christ in our lives and how he is changing us for the better.
